Residential build sites are exposed targets after hours, with open perimeters, stored fuel, copper cabling, appliances and plant left on site between trades. StateGuard secures housing estates, apartment builds and individual lots with monitored perimeters, mobile patrols, rapid alarm response and Grade A1 monitoring backed by our National Operations Centre. NFC patrol verification proves officers attended, Mission Talk keeps teams coordinated, and our 7 Phases approach is tailored to each stage of the build from slab to handover.
StateGuard secures residential builds with a stage-matched, monitored control: monitored perimeters, NFC-verified mobile patrols routed across multiple lots, and rapid alarm response — coordinated by the National Operations Centre and relocated as the build progresses from slab to handover.
Risk concentrates in the windows between delivery, installation and lock-up.
Stripped from walls and cable runs before lock-up.
Slab-and-frame lots with only temporary fencing.
Whitegoods and fittings taken between delivery and install.
Stored fuel and power tools targeted overnight.
Many addresses to cover across a single estate.
Greenfield lots lack mains power and lighting.
Documented examples from active construction & infrastructure engagements — Problem, Response, Outcome. Names and locations withheld; events logged with timestamp, GPS and NOC verification.
Problem
An after-hours perimeter breach at a Victorian construction site, where chain-link fencing had been cut to gain access.
Response
The monitoring team verified the breach in real time; the National Operations Centre maintained live surveillance until patrol secured the perimeter. StateGuard then recommended the client add a perimeter fence-detection system.
Outcome
No asset loss reported. On a later occasion the new system alerted on contact at the fence line, enabling officers to reach the site before entry was achieved.
Problem
At approximately 00:34, a vehicle previously observed on site returned with no registration plates and two occupants; one approached the fence line carrying cutting tools.
Response
The officer made their presence known and the individuals immediately left. Photographic and video evidence was captured and escalated to external authorities, who attended around 00:54.
Outcome
The perimeter remained intact with no breach or damage reported; evidence retained for follow-up.

Proof of patrol completion
Early-stage lots are secured without mains power using battery and solar-supported monitored detection, temporary perimeter sensors and scheduled mobile patrols rather than fixed wired systems. Our team designs coverage around the build stage, so a slab-and-frame lot with only temporary fencing is patrolled and monitored differently to a lock-up-stage build, and detection is relocated as the site progresses.
Copper cabling, power tools, appliances staged for installation, and stored fuel are the most frequently targeted items on residential sites. Copper and wiring are stripped from walls and cable runs before lock-up, while whitegoods and fixtures disappear in the days between delivery and installation. We position detection and patrol timing around these high-risk windows rather than applying a flat schedule.
Yes. A single coordinated arrangement can cover an entire estate, with mobile patrols routed across multiple lots and NFC patrol verification confirming each lot was physically checked. This is more cost-effective than securing lots individually and gives the builder one point of contact and one consolidated report covering every address in the estate.
When a monitored detection device activates, our National Operations Centre verifies the event in real time and dispatches the nearest rapid alarm response officer, with attendance commonly within minutes depending on site location and patrol positioning. Verification first means officers are sent to a confirmed event rather than a suspected one, which speeds the right response.
Builders engaging security for residential sites should confirm the provider holds the correct state security licences for each jurisdiction the work covers, as licensing is regulated state by state in Australia. StateGuard operates under 5 state security licences and is ASIAL-aligned, with monitoring aligned to AS/NZS 2201.2:2022. Always ask to see current licence details before engaging any provider.
Every attendance is logged with NFC patrol verification confirming the officer reached each checkpoint, and incidents are documented with time-stamped notes, photographs and where relevant video, then escalated to external authorities when required. Builders receive a clear written record they can use for insurance claims, principal-contractor reporting and site-induction reviews.
